1st Day of School 8.19.12

Wow!  The boys just continue to amaze me at how good they are at growing.  I swear they do it  super-speedy.  These good-lookin's have started another school year.  This year has been hard on me, I now have a 4th grader!  I can hardly believe it, I don't like it, and I know there is nothing I can do about it.  Yes, Dusty is now in the 4th grade.  He got Mr. Anthony Burger for his teacher, and I am beyond excited for him.  He has such a great teacher and class and he is loving school.  Last year wasn't so great for him, so I think he deserves such an awesome teacher this year.  Just a couple of weeks ago he told me it still felt like it was the first week of school (and they have been there for 4 months), but last year it seemed he was there forever.  It's too bad that time goes by fast when you are having fun, and drags on when you're not - it should really be the other way around.  And Mr. Hayden got Mrs. Amber Venezia for his teacher.  He seems to like her.  This year Dusty actually cared about wearing a new shirt on the first day of school - Hayden still doesn't care.  That used to be the best part of goig back to school for me - wearing the new clothes.  They don't care about the clothes, they were just excited to go back to school.

Family Reunion 8.3.12

Our Anderson Family reunion was at Bear Lake this year, it is the perfect place to soak up some sun, and relax, play in the sand, eat sand, get wet, get sun burned, sit through a wind storm, eat food, collect sea shells and play with cousins.  That pretty much sums it up!

just too funny!

The next morning after we were exhausted and fried, we (or some of we) ran in the new annual family fun run.  I chose to take pictures instead!

Then we participated in all of the usual Garland Wheat and Beat Day celebrations:  parade, firemans water fight, and fire works.

We also hung around at my parents house and played in more sand, played more with cousins, ate more food and decorated the traditional family reunion t-shirts.
And to end it all, it just wouldn't be right without a big doggy pile on Uncle Braden.  I am pretty sure these times with the family and all of the cousins is the greatest time of my children's lives.  They have so much fun!  Every time we go to Utah, we leave with Dusty asking why we can't live there.
