I have so much to catch up on, 6 months worth to do in the next two weeks - I really don't think I can catch up before the end of the year. I have felt so busy, it just seems impossible to do all that I would like to do. But keeping up on this blog is one thing that is important to me, as scrapbooking never gets accomplished anymore. This is the one way I have to try to document all of those fun things we get to do as a family. So here we go back in time to July! Our ward had scheduled a campout for July 5th-7th at the Pickle Gulch Campground and we were really looking forward to it for several weeks. We were really eager to get there and ended up being the first family there. We looked around a bit and chose the spot for our tent. We got it up just in time for a huge downpour of rain. The rain would let up just a little bit, pretty much just enough time for the other 3 families to set up their camp before it started to downpour again. We kept waiting for more families to arrive, as there were so many that signed up that they reserved several group sites to accomodate everyone, but nobody else came to stay - luckily for them! This camping trip is probably one that we will never forget. It wasn't at all what one would expect, but still created lasting memories. It was so cold that we went to bed early so we could bundle up, and the next morning we laid our wet items out to dry. We did get to play out for a bit, and then it began to storm again. It rained and rained and we took cover in the trailblazer. We had gone through all of our clothing and had nothing dry left and the sky looked as if the storm would never end, so Chris and I ran to the tent several times to grab all that we could and filled up the trailblazer and headed for home. We woke up the next morning and headed back to the campground to find our tent flooded. Everything that we left behind was soaked, it rained so much the window flaps filled with water and the rain dripped inside the tent - through the zipper - soaking everything that was left inside. It turns out that all of the other families ditched their stuff and left too. We did manage to have a little fun between the pouring rain episodes. Dusty was so disapointed when we threw all of our remaining wet and muddy stuff in black trash bags to take them home. He really wanted to stay.
