Glenwood Springs

Right after school got out, Chris took us on a little getaway to Glenwood Springs.  We stayed in the Hotel Colorado, and went swimming in the hot springs.  We had so much fun, I would love to go again.  On our way home, we took the scenic route through Aspen Colorado.
While we were lounging in the lawn chairs, a beautiful young woman and her husband? came and found a spot near us.  She has cancer and was completely bald.  Kyrie noticed her and pointed out her huge dangly earings.  And she kept looking and said, "No, she's not a daddy!"  I could tell she was a little confused.  So I whispered in her ear about the situation.  I told her she was really sick and takes some medicine, but the medicine makes her hair fall out. I told her when she is all done taking the medicine her hair will grow back.  She whispered in my ear, "tell me that again, I didn't hear you".  So I told her again.  I knew she had heard me, it was just a lot to for her to take in.  I then told her she was sick with cancer like Aunt Tina had, but Tina didn't ever get to take the medicine because she was too sick, and we left it at that.  And ever since then she has been so concerned about Jaxon and Alek getting a new mommy.  She talks about them all the time, and uses their names a lot like in place of Jack and Jill, it's Jaxon and Alek.  She keeps saying that they have two mommies, one mommy at their house and one mommy in the air.  And she has told me "Jaxon and Alek's new mommy is nice to me and she likes me".

Camden

I haven't done too well at updating about our little guy, but here are some pictures, although they are from a couple months ago.  He is now 10.5 months old and hardly a baby anymore.  He just started taking steps without holding on to anything, and is my earliest walker.  He can't stand for very long and keep his balance, the he only has enough time to get a few steps in before he tips over, but his balance improves everyday.  He is such a good and sweet little boy, although he is also becoming a little pest.  He loves to unroll the toilet paper or shred it if we forget to keep the bathroom door closed.  He loves to throw his food on the floor.  And he is very good at pulling all the books off the shelves, dumping the bucket of crayons, and the games.  He loves to clear off my nightstand for me, including emptying my mug of water on the floor.  He stretches and reaches as high as he can almost everywhere he goes, pulling things down.  He tries and tries to get my hair straightener, which is 430 degrees while turned on, and I have had a hard time retraining myself to keep it and the cord out of reach and we have had some close calls.  He loves to be outside and eat dirt and rocks and he loves to play with balls.  He will play fetch with himself, throwing and chasing the ball over and over.  He does not want to be left out, and hates for anybody to go outside or leave without him.  He now has 1 tooth, but eats like he has a mouthful of them.  He loves to talk on the phone with his daddy.  And he loves to give me kisses, in fact we usually end up having a little make-out session.  He kisses and kisses, with his mouth wide open, leaving slobber all around my mouth.  He grabs his little hands onto my cheecks or hair to keep me in place and will kiss for sometimes 10 minutes.  I love it!!!  He takes great comfort in holding hair, he seems to have to have some of my hair in his hands to fall asleep.  He has learned that his daddys wiskers can make a good replacement, and he has also found that he has some of his own hair, so sometimes he now holds it if he cant get to mine.  He keeps us so busy, and entertained and makes my heart fill like it is about to explode.  He grows and learns so fast, it is hard to keep updated on what his current new tricks are.  I love this little guy!

swim lessons

The kids have been going to swimming lessons just about every morning this summer.  They have really enjoyed it!
Dusty's back float
Hayden's back float

Kyrie's back float - It's funny she has had an upset look on her face just during swimming lessons almost everyday.  But she really does enjoy it!  She talks about how much she loves it, and she was brave enough to go down the big green slide all by herself.  She talks about her swim teachers and is so excited to go and then we get there and as soon as it is time for her to get in the water, she acts like she doesn't want to be there, and as soon as she gets back out of the water she comes to me and is all smiles and tells me how much fun it is.  She has been so funny!

bling

Both of the boys got some new bling at the end of the school year.  We found out Hayden was in desperate need of glasses.  The eye doctor didn't want to give him his full prescription that he needs, she said it is too drastic of a change, so we will go back next year and get his full strength prescription.  I think he looks adorable in his new glasses!  Dusty was a bit - ok, a lot jealous that he didn't need glasses too!  And he was even more upset that Hayden got to get his glasses the last week of school, and he had to wait until the week after school got out for his new bling.  He was so excited to get braces!  We have been told for a couple of years that he would need them, and we finally got them!  They have not bothered him a bit.  He says the worst part has been the expander, which he has had in for a couple months before the brackets.  The expander made him really sore, and he spent about a week learning how to talk and eat with it in, and he is looking forward to having it taken out in the next few months.  The braces have been a breeze for him and he thinks they are SO cool!!!  I only hope he still thinks they are cool in a couple of years when he goes back in for phase #2.

love notes

My Dusty Boy is always coming up with ways to say I Love You.  He sticks notes everywhere, leads us on hunts to find the notes, flies paper airplanes at us with love notes written on them, writes poems, sticky notes, anything he can think of.  I love him and his thoughtfulness!  Thanks for the constant reminders Dusty Boy!
