6 months

So these are Camden's 6 month pictures.  He is 9 months old today, that's how far behind I am!!!  I love all of his expressions, these are only a few of the many that I got on this day.  He has so much personality.  He is absolutely perfect and wonderful and sweet and easy and cute and squishy and handsome and funny and enjoyable, okay he is one of my everythings and I adore him.
I LOVE HIM!!!

oreo

This is from awhile back, but too cute to not post.  This is Camden and his first Oreo.  He LOVES food and thinks he has to eat whatever we are eating, and he usually gets his way.  One day I was eating a piece of chocolate, and before I knew it he had taken it out of my hand and he was pretty sure it was his.  I tried to take it from him and he hurried and pulled his arm behind him, hiding the chocolate behind his back.  And so I then agreed that he was right, it was his, I let him eat the whole thing.  He does pretty good for not having any teeth yet, he uses his gums and breaks off pieces and chomps just fine.  He eats a lot of graham crackers, and does great with anything that sogs up real fast.  But he also eats chicken, diced grapes, pretzels, and popcorn by the handfuls.  He eats a lot of food that would be best with teeth, but this kid has food to eat and I guess when there is a will there is a way.  He usually has to hold a bag of some kind of food while we are shopping.  He hears the sound of the plastic bag and knows it has to be food and he is more content when the bag is in his hands.  It's funny that is took quite awhile to accept any kind of solid, but now he loves food more than any of my other kids.  Got food?  This boy is hungry!

Dusty has spent the last few months participating in a group called Destination Imagination. They met once a week after school to plan a challenge for competition. They put many hours and a lot of work to put together a 4 minute movie trailer.

Their group did awesome!  Dusty had a behind the scene part, he was to set off the volcano and he had one line in the script. At the last minute, he also became the narrator because they had a team member MIA.  He was awesome!  He thought it was a lot of fun, especially the instant challenge, which he wasn't allowed to even tell his parents about - it has to be kept top secret until other competitions were done on another level.

Dusty has also been in the process of getting braces.  He had spacers on for a few weeks before getting this expander, which he wears for a couple months before getting brackets.  He had about a weeks worth of getting used to this new bling in his mouth.  He had a really difficult time talking and eating.  He ate baby food with Camden - which was his choice.  I offered him lots of yogurt, applesauce and smoothies.  He is now used to it and hardly notices it.

There is so much I want to blog about but it seems hard to find the time anymore, hopefully I can get caught up before the boys get out of school in a few weeks.  But for a quick little update on Camden, he has been doing the army crawl for about a week and a half and he just learned to clap, and of course I think it is one of the cutest things ever.  He loves food and thinks it's only fair to eat every kind of food he can see, he gets really mad at me when he sees me put on chapstick, he sees me put it up to mouth and he wants it too (only he thinks it's something to eat).  He loves to land his little slobbery lips on mine for kisses.  He is so happy and makes us all laugh and smile everyday.  And Kyrie - she just informed me today that she likes pink and black,  all the girls like black now (according to Pinkalicious).

brothers

Hayden loves to get on the floor and play with Camden. Are boys ever too young to get down and wrestle? They both LOVED it!

pinewood derby #2

I was greatful the derby project didn't take place in my kitchen this year! It looks like it wouldn't have mattered much though, I think Chris is wearing most of the sawdust. Chris spent a lot of time with Dusty carving the block into a truck. Between all he has had going on and SEVEN weeks in a row that he has traveled for work, and being away from home, I was greatful he made time to spend with Dusty Boy.
Dusty said that next year he is making his on his own since Hayden will be making one too, and will need Chris's help. Dusty has really been so independent and grown up lately, and he is such a great big brother always caring for his siblings.

visit with the Sills

Joni and her family were here in Colorado for a few days again and came to spend a little time with us while they were here. I had cleaned out the boys bathroom for them and then later saw that Dusty had gone in there and set up some hotel shampoo, conditioner, and lotion for them. He makes me laugh!
We joined them on a visit to the Denver zoo.Kyrie and Avery loved riding in the wagon together, and it was great having Gavin pull the wagon for a good chunk of the time.
The kids loved feeding the birds some sweet nectar. It took awhile to get any birds interested, I think they were already well fed that day.
mmm...dipping dotsIt was a beautiful sunny day, sometimes too bright to look up at the camera, and we got our first sun burn of the year! We had a great time! The kids loved having their cousins here!
