Guess Who Made It To The Big Screen?

A few weeks ago our ward had a fundraiser spaghetti dinner/silent auction for the Young Women and Young Men. Chris bid on a couple of tickets to a Rockies game and his bid won. So last Friday we got a babysitter for the boys and headed for the game. Our seats were on the 7th row, just off of left field, so we were pretty close!

It was lots of fun, Kyrie even thought so! Chris bought Kyrie her first bag of cotton candy. I couldn't decide if she liked it or not. She had a few small tastes and a couple times she acted like she didn't like it, and a couple of times she seemed to enjoy it. She was nice enough to save most of it for her older brothers.
Kyrie was quite the popular one! As soon as we walked into the security station the attention-getting started. She got quite the reaction from all ages, people would come up to her and want to touch her like she was a prized trophy. And I also heard lots of "OOHs" and "Ahs" from others. It seems that I was constantly hearing people talk about my baby! Before I even got to sit down, a few ladies on the row behind us said we'd have to pass her on back to them. Then as soon as we sat down, two little girls came running over. They tickled her toes and talked to her. One little 7 year old French girl, Genevive said, "I've seen another baby before and she was pretty too, but I really like this one really a lot." There were a couple of girls right behind us that kept saying how pretty Kyrie is, and about half way through the game I heard one of them say, "heck with the game, all of my attention has been on the baby". They also were taking pictures of her with their own cameras all throughout the game. At one point a camera man came down our isle to get to the field and it seemed that everyone around us started yelling "GET THIS BABY!" One lady said, "COME ON, I KNOW STUFF, SHE'S CUTE!" The camera man kept on walking. Then I heard, "OH, we're all mad now".

Then about 20 minutes later, the camera man headed back up the stairs, stopped right in front of me and put the camera right in Kyrie's face and she was on this big screen! Everyone around us was so excited and started cheering! I pulled out my camera and it takes several seconds for it to turn on and then a few more seconds for it to be ready to take a picture and I was probably 2 seconds away from snapping a picture of her on the big screen and the camera man walked away. I should've asked the girls behind us to see if they got one!

Here is me and my "prized trophy". She is such a sweetie! She was so happy and smiley at this ballgame and had quite the impact on others. I wrote on a previous post that she has a way of spreading happiness, and she did a good job of that!

5 months old

Five months already? It's crazy! This little one is such a sweetie, I've loved every minute that I have shared with her. She is so easy going and so much fun to have around and she has a way of spreading happiness. She is such a special addition to our family, and I love her bunches. She is no longer content to be put down, and it's not because she wants to be held all the time, she just want to be up and doing things and can't get herself around. So I get to pack her around while I do house chores (which I don't mind, I love to hold this little one). I feel so bad for her, she wants to eat SO bad, but she can't handle the food. She really doesn't like any of it and almost throws up. However, this last week we have found that she loves to suck on chicken nuggets, graham crackers and paper. She also loves her milk, but we've got to somehow get her to eat food soon. I love to watch her grow and see her personality. It's amazing how much you can know about a little baby that is just 5 months old. She is her own little person with her own little fun personality with a whole bunch of sweetness.

mini vacation

I love these little mini vacations. Chris had to go to Rifle, Colorado over the weekend, and again invited us to join him. Getting away even for just one night is fun, especially if it is to a hotel with a swimming pool!

Kyrie's first swimming experience was a little bit too overwhelming for her, but the second experience was a different story - she LOVED every minute of it! She really enjoyed it, and I was really surprised especially because the water was SO cold.

Dusty enjoyed squirting everything and everyone. These little squirters are alot funner that a regular squirt gun, they shoot out alot of water!

Hayden loved jumping into the pool, although I'm not quite sure what he is doing here.

On our way home the boys begged us to take them to Burger King. We didn't know we would be treated wich such royalty.

I feel bad that I didn't get a picture of the whole class, Oh well! After all, I was juggling Hayden, Kyrie, the video camera and digital camera all at the same time.
He did it! Dusty graduated from kindergarten!

The morning began with a little graduation ceremony, complete with graduation caps, and air-brushed t-shirts. The graduates all recieved a scrapbook of their years work, along with a graduating certificate from their teacher. Then off to the hallway for a piece of graduation cake. And what is a graduation without a party?

and a little body art. Congratualtions kindergarteners! Summer has now officially begun!

My Daughter

Kyrie is so funny! It looks as if we just need to get her some little cups of her own. Last night Chris was playing with her and she got a hold of his water and didn't want to let go. She absolutely refuses to take a bottle, it makes her so mad if we even try. It looks as if we should have been trying a cup instead. She shows a lot of interest in food. I used to have her sit on my lap while we eat, and she'd chase after my food with her mouth wide open. She now sits in her own chair at the table while we eat. I cannot get her to eat, even though she chases after my food. She will not eat the rice cereal, oatmeal, bananas, or even potatoes and gravy. But give her a taste of popsicle, jello or licorice and there's no problem getting her to take it. Sunday night we had popcorn and she reached her hand in the bowl and grabbed a handful of popcorn and tried to eat that. She's pretty smart, she knows what's good!

Our past two weeks!

Today was Hayden's last day of school! I kinda have mixed feelings about this. I went to his school for a while for his party. They had pizza, and rootbeer floats - Yum!

Last Friday was Field Day at Dusty's school. Here again, I've captured him with his eyes closed.

He had a lot of fun with the races. I missed the first two events, which 0f course were the funnest. After the events, Hayden, Kyrie and I got to join Dusty for some school lunch.



And what would you do if your honey ran out on you? A certain 4-year old at my house has a good idea - you put the honey bear outside with the lid off and bees will bring us more honey, because bees have honey in them you know. This little four year old comes up with funny stuff. It used to be that when he got mad at me he'd say, "you're not my mom anymore". Well he has decided that he is going to marry me after Chris dies, and now when he gets mad at me, he says, "that's it, now I'm going to have to find someone else" (to marry). One day I had called Dusty a goober, and Hayden said, "You don't need to call him that, he's fantastic!". Usually Hayden is VERY oppositional, but once in awhile he surprises us. Lately when asked to do things he says "Sure thing, Buddy!". Everything is "awesome" and he has also been calling me "Highness".


Last weekend the boys got to go to father and sons outing. They had a blast. Hayden was determined that they were going hunting instead of camping. Chris took a bunch of pictures with his phone, they look really good on the phone, but awful blown up on the computer. Next time I'll have to be sure he takes a camera. I'm glad they got to go and create memories anyway. They came home filthy, and smelly and everything came back covered in sand. I'm sure glad they had a fun time - I wish I could've gone. It again makes me miss Vernal, where we had the mountains so close.


We've had quite a bit of events the last week, but I feel as if I have missed it all. I feel like such a zombie. I have been so sick and EXTREMELY tired! I stayed in bed for a week (which I hate lounging in bed). I ended up having bronchitis and I just wasn't getting enough air. I would get so tired that I literally didn't have enough energy to keep my eyes open. I have felt like such a horrible mother/wife. The boys could pretty much take care of themselves but Kyrie was in bed all week with me until Chris would come home to rescue her. I pretty much got the boys to and from school and that's it, and one day I couldn't even do that. I was so tired that I was just going to have them stay home from school because I couldn't get them there. Luckily Chris was able to take a day off to get them to school. All week Chris took care of the family, he cooked, cleaned, and got the boys to bed. Thanks babe for all the hard work you've done the last couple of weeks! I know I couldn't have made it without you. You have been such an excellent husband and father and I truly appreciate all you do. I love you!!!!

H&R Block Peace of Mind = Well Worth It!

I got my first job when I was 16, and my dad helped me through and taught me how to do my own taxes. I continued doing my own until 3 years ago when we bought our first home. For the past 3 years we have taken all of our tax papers to H&R Block, and we have always spent the $30 fee to purchase the Peace of Mind. When we had our taxes done this year, the lady helping us was quick to do the federal and state of Colorado taxes, but struggled with the Utah form. She had to pull out a booklet a couple of times for help. Well, we have waited and waited for almost 3 months to recieve our small UT return, and last week we got a letter saying we owed money. In fact, it was almost $1200.00 difference! Part of that was fees and interest. Great! So I took our packet into the year-round office and got a phone call today. We will not be recieving our $169.00 rebate - but they are going to pay all that we owe! What a great deal! The lady that helped me this week said they always URGE people to purchase the plan - especially if you moved from another state, because each state is a little different. And as you can see, it became very benefical to us! I love this post! For first of all, the outcome of our little story, and second of all, it only took me a little minute to do - instead of all day! Thanks Babe! My computer world just got fun again!
