Ever since Kyrie was born, she has been the center of ALL of our attention. The boys loved to do everything with her, they have always been so good to include her and help her with anything. She loved to help me and follow me around and Chris and I also tried to include her with everything. So the saying goes, "having a baby changes everything", it most certainly has for her! She has been so sad and has not been the happy, sweet girl that we know and love. She is really good to her brother and loves him very much, but she misses life as she knew it. She stands at the top of the stairs and cries instead of just going down them, because it used to be that I would throw her on like a cape and ran down the stairs with her as she was super baby. Everything big to something small like going down the stairs has changed for her. If someone asks about the baby, it is now normal for her to curl up in a ball and cry or scream. Not only am I really occupied with the baby, but she also got used to her dad being home for a few weeks, and she became his best bud, and now he has gone back to work and she has lost a lot of his attention as well. And all at the same time, her brothers went back to school and started football and she hardly gets their time and attention anymore. The poor girl, we really have felt bad for her, from being the center of our whole family to not having anyones time and attention has been so hard! And to top it off, the baby got gifts, and the boys both just had birthdays. For the last 4 or 5 months she has talked and talked about having her "happy dirday". She talks about what kind of cake she is going to have, what kind of birthday and she wants presents. She talks about it almost everyday, and waiting until December has been a very long wait, with still a few months to go. Dusty was talking about how Chris's birthday is soon and Kyrie got really sad and said, "but what about my dirday", and then she started talking about how she is going to make her own cake. Well, last night Chris decided to make a cake and let Kyrie help and all she could talk about was how it was her own happy dirday cake. Just before we were to eat it, Chris put in some candles and we sang to our little sad princess and let her blow out the candles. And for a moment, she got to feel like that special little girl, that I wish she always knew she is. The last 6 weeks has been so rough for her, and I don't know if she'll ever adjust. I hope that soon I will be able to do more with her while everyone else is away for the day. I told her this morning that we could go to the park after lunch, but I need to clean the kitchen first and she said, "like Cinderella?" We hope we can find our happy little girl, and when we find her, I hope she stays. We have missed your cute happy self Kyrie, and even though things have changed, we hope you know how much we love you, our love will only grow!
