Sunflower Farms

Hayden's preschool class got to go on a field trip to Sunflower Farms last week, and I got to go with him. There were different farm animals, some of which we had the chance to feed. There were different kinds of swings and hammocks all throught the farm. There was a huge tree house that had a swinging bridge that went through several of the trees, connecting them together. There was a bunch of other fun stuff as well, but according to Hayden, nothing compared to the maze. He and his little buddy had so much fun on the maze. So much fun, it was hard when the time came to leave. Thanks for letting me join you for a fun day little buddy!

We smell pretty

Or maybe we stink. It is overwhelming! If you were at church with us today, you probably smelled it too! It was just time to head out to church today and I noticed Kyrie chewing on something. As I got close to her to check it out, I saw a puddle of water on the tile floor. Then I noticed the broken bottle of cologne. So Kyrie wasn't sitting in a puddle of water afterall. I yelled for Chris and he helped me with the situation. A chunk of glass was pulled out of Kyrie's mouth and her hand! Lovely! And where were the parents this morning? We just love early church meetings. We are out the door just after 8:00 during the school week, and we usually make it just fine and usually without much chaos. And then Sunday comes and for some reason it is so hard to get to church on time at 9:00! And so for today, here is our excuse. I checked Kyrie's condition and luckily there was not a single cut. I cleaned out her mouth the best that I could - she did get a little cologne in there from the glass and her fingers. I wiped her down a little and lightly cleaned up. Then out the door, we have sacrament meeting first and today was the primary program, so we didn't want to be late. So we went stinky! Kyrie smelled like she was wearing the whole bottle of cologne. I put a blanket around her, and that helped - just a little. I hoped that people would hold their breath as we walked by, but I'm sure they all got a big WHOOF!

Just life

I haven't posted for quite awhile, life has been so busy and I am finding it harder and harder to do the things I enjoy or would like to do. I have been very preoccupied latley! I have been busy with kids, kids, and kids! Which I love! I was one of those that as a child loved to play "house" and I am living my childhood dream. Only I didn't know it was this demanding. The house work and shopping of course are never ending. I got a poem the other day and it lists all the things that we do and sometimes are expected to do. It is quite long or else I would post it. But it's amazing all that we can accomplish, and all these little things add up tp be HUGE! But the poem forgot a few things, and I think it's a little outdated. It missed things like mowing the lawn, and - blogging! It is such a good poem, maybe I will change my mind and post it someday. I have been busy helping with Hayden's pre-school class. I also volunteered to help in Dusty's class and at parent teacher conferences his teacher explained to me that she hasn't put me on the schedule because I have a baby and the next time I open my eyes she'll be all grown up, and she wants me to enjoy my little ones. And she's right! I hardly have a baby anymore. But I would love to have Dusty see me in his classroom, but then again would I even have time for it? I am learnig to like my calling in YW more and more. But it too has to compete for a piece of my time. Time is very precious, and there is never enough of it. Today feel kinda like a mini-vacation, I get to stay home and get caught up on a few things. And I have time to blog-yea! So I thought I'd post a little about what we have been up to. Chris is staying busy at work, he works hard and spends many late nights at the office. Dusty is doing so well in school, his teacher said she wishes she had a classroom full of Dustys. She said he shines and he shines VerY bRIgHTlY. I of course already knew that! He is a very good student, and a very good son as well. He has many friends, as I walk him to and from school, kids of all ages are always yelling "Hi Dusty". There are NO worries with this boy! He also just finished his 1st season of flag football. He thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! Hayden loves preshool (and so do I!). He has the best teachers this year, it has made all the difference from last year. I love to be in his classroom, the ladies there are wonderful, and it is a great place to be. I feel so lucky to have my son be in the class that he is in. He has several good friends there and he too is such is good student. He is making good progress! He still cracks me up. Some of the latest things I thought were cute are: he made a comment about how I don't love him at night. And I said, "Yes I do!" And he asked, "You love me even when you are sleeping?" And he always says the cuteset thing to Kyrie. The other day he said, "Kyrie, I remember what you told me, you promised that you would always love me." What a sweetie! And Kyrie - what a fun little girl. Maybe she is the reason why I feel so busy. She goes from one thing to the next, dumping and pulling out every single thing she can onto the floor. She is quite the little mess maker. She will soon be walking, she is getting more and more stable every day. She loves to giggle for her brothers, which adds so much joy to our home. She made her dads day recently when she cried to see him heading out the door to go to work! She is growing faster than imaginable. Just this morning she stood up and pulled my water mug off my nightstand, and it had spilled. As I walked into the room she had that look like she was in trouble. Not that she has ever been in trouble before, but having her respond like that was another sign that she is not my little baby! We have a little girl now, sometimes as she is sleeping I can cradle her and pretend she is a baby. I've got to face the fact that my baby is growing up, that is what happens and there is nothing I can do about it. But I guess it doesn't matter how little or big she is, Kyrie is Kyrie no matter what her size. I am just so glad to have her!
We have the cutest little pirates at our house, so stay tuned for some pictures! We started celebrating our Halloween a week ago, but there is much more to come. I love this time of year!

Little Ladybug

I just had just a little moment of panic, I couldn't find my daughter! I told Hayden it was time to go get Dusty from school, and then went to get Kyrie. I couldn't find her or hear her so the first place I checked was the bathroom. Whew, she wasn't in there! I checked behind the couches, still no Kyrie. At this point I was a little panicked and asked for Hayden's help. I decided to check upstairs and there she was! She had made it all the way up by herself. She has put her hands on the first 2 stairs before, but this was her first attempt to climb up them. When I found her she was pretty excited! It looks like we will be spending some time on the stairs, if she can go up, we'll have to practice going DOWN! When we got back from getting Dusty, I put Kyrie on the floor and she headed right back for the stairs! Where has my baby gone? I miss having a tiny little one, but it sure is fun to see her grow. She is a fun little girl, and I love her OH SO MUCH!

Party at Scotts Pirates Cove

The boys got their first birthday party with friends this year. It was a lot of work, I hope they remember this!

Dusty was excited to greet our guests! When our guests arrived, they got to pick a pirate bandana to wear. We then started out with a few games: X Marks the Spot, Cannon Pop, a Treaure Hunt, and Walk the Plank.

Wes was just as excited to give a gift as Hayden was to recieve it.

Here's a picture of the gang. I had this wonderful idea of getting the perfect picture. I had bought pirate toys: swords, hooks, eye patches, knecklaces, telescopes and earings. I could vision having a picture of everyone with their bandanas and pirate prop. Yeah right! All the excitement of all of these little ones make it impossible. It was a miracle to get them all to sit there for a second to snap a picture. Forget about the bandanas, props, and getting them to look at the camera! Here we have Wes, Brinley, Hayden, Dylan, Claire, Aubrey, Drew, Josh, Dusty, Benjamin, Jacob, Hayden and Chris.

We served bugles, water with jewels, ice cream and these cupcakes that had a hidden treasure inside.

I think the kids all had a good time. Happy Birthday to Dusty and Hayden!

Hayden's Birthday

Hayden got to celebrate his 5th birthday for 3 days! He got to start on Thursday at school, where they threw a mini party for him. His teacher made him this crown that he loved, and he got to share some treats with his class. Then on Friday he got to celebrate with his brother at Chuck E Cheese, and then Saturday it was the real thing.
We of course had to do a special breakfast for him like we did for Dusty. He wanted the same thing Dusty had with the same colors.

For his birthday he got Buzz LightYear toys and a CD. He couldn't have been happier! He also got some birthday money from the grandparents that he can spend. I can see we will have some hard decisions ahead... what to buy?

Dusty's Birthday

So we just had a couple of birthdays at our house last week, it's just taking me a while to get it posted. Dusty got his request, pancakes for breakfast.

But they weren't just ordinary pancakes, we have to start the day with it being special, right!

For his birthday he got a Broncos football, a little sheriff car, a book that he gets to read to me and Mater's Car Tunes (which by the way, I am really disappointed in Maters choice of music - I thought he was hipper than that! At least Dusty seems to like it.). He also got some spending cash from the grandparents. Dusty finished off his morning party, then off to school. At lunch time he was surprised to find a love note in his lunchbox. He questioned why I put it in there! And to his embarrassment, I took in birthday cookies for him to share with his classmates. He was really hoping that I would drop them off early in the morning before school, but the teacher asked that I take them in just before school let out for the day. He survived having me in the classroom, and even asked me to tag along with him so that he could share the leftovers with the speciality teachers.

After Chris got home from work we took the boys to Chuck E Cheese for dinner. They have had this planned for a couple of months. I think that they were really hoping for the Chuck E Cheese birthday package, but they were greatful for what they got. I hope Dusty had a special day!!
