School is out!

School is out! But not without some fun first! I was able to go on a field trip to the zoo with Dusty's class, it was really fun. I have been able to go on all of Hayden's field trips throughout the last few years, but this is the first time I was able to go on one with Dusty Boy.

Our group of kids were awesome. Justin in the red kept on asking if he could hold my hand!

Dusty and Lexi - they are such good friends, everytime I am at school and the students are asked to pair up with someone, Dusty and Lexi choose each other.
Then a couple of weeks later, I got to go back to the zoo with Hayden's class.

And then there was field day, here's Hayden on the run trying to finish the race!....And then kindergarten graduation. It seems that every year goes by faster and faster. It seems I just took Hayden to his first day of kindergarten. I'm kinda glad it's over though - no more 1/2 days of school for a few years. I will be so glad to be out of that schedule!

Hayden with his speech therapist, Megan

and his teacher, Mrs. Hegwer. My kids ended up with the best teachers this year, we were so blessed to have them. Hayden's teacher was so sweet to him and she was so understanding. She helped our family out in so many ways, and was so good to him (and me) on the very trying days. I don't know what we would have done without her. She adjusted a few of her regular ways to accomodate Hayden and his struggles. I didn't get any pictures of Dusty's last day or any of him and his teacher because the parent that was in charge of the party changed the time and didn't let anyone know, so by the time I got to his class, the party was over and the students were all lined up to leave the classroom. But he had an awesome teacher too, Mrs. Flynn was always so calm and so organized even though most of the time she had about a half a dozen different things going on at the same time. I really enjoyed being a small piece of their class. I loved helping out at the school this year, and in a way I am really disappointed but also relieved at the same time that I won't be able to put in much time this upcoming year because of a new baby.
And this is me with my friend Candace. I met her on the first week of school and we started talking and instantly became friends. She is really fun and I love being friends with her!

He's MINE!

Me and my HOTTIE on Mother's Day. I am so lucky to be the mother of his wild children. But I am mostly lucky to be his wife, I'm so glad he is MINE!!!

Two of the wild children

I know I've mentioned how Dusty loves to create, he made us eat one of his latest. Graham crackers, ice cream, cool whip, topped with sprinkles - he was so proud!

Chris made a big purchase for me on Mother's Day, wasn't he so thoughtful? This thing is for dual purpose - on road/off road. At first when he started riding this to work, I had the desire to call him a few minutes after leaving home to make sure he made it okay. I am getting more and more used to him riding it, but it still scares me. At least work is only about 4 miles away from home, so he doesn't have very far to go. I know he will be careful, I just wish everyone else on the road was too!

Fashionista

Lovely! Kyrie loves LOVES loves her sunglasses and wears them A LOT! She thinks she is so pretty, and what do you do if you have 2 princess crowns? You have to wear one around your middle. She loves to be girly, Chris is already wondering what is going to happen when she starts wearing make-up! I've heard a couple of people call her "FASHIONISTA". It's so different having a girl, especially one that loves being girly. At least she's not afraid to get dirty and play cars with her brothers!

Kyrie with her friend Delaney. Ky loves Delaney and always has. She is afraid of some other kids her age, but she has always liked this little girl. I was put in Young Women's when she was just maybe 6 months old, and I'd take her to class with me. Delaney was quite often in there with her mom too and Kyrie would do what she could to be by Delaney. We have been able to trade off a little bit, having the girls to play at each other's houses, and it has been a lot of fun for them. These pics were Delaney's idea, she was trying to carry Kyrie and pretend she was her baby, but I told her Ky was a little bit too big for her to carry, so she put her down, put her arm around her and told Kyrie to stay there and hold really still and asked me to take their picture.

Easter 2011

So I am slow posting about Easter, but I want to document it anyway. This year we decided to go back to Utah again for Easter, especially since it had been 8 months since we had been up to see the family. We were able to see a lot of extended family members that we haven't seen for several years, and some that we had never met.

The kids all got plenty of goods from the egg hunt, and got a little visit in with the bunny.

Getting ready for another hunt

This was the longest egg hunt I have ever seen! It was much funner than the ones that are over in 2 minutes or less. The men got to go out and hide the eggs, and the kids had to search for the ones with their name on it, plus there were some freebies. Some of the eggs were hidden very well! The gold egg was the hardest, the kids searched and searched and grandpa gave out hints, and finally told them what exact area it was in. I even went out and searched just to see if I could find it and I couldn't, even with it being partially visible. Dusty finally found it, and he said he found it by looking where grandpa was looking - and there it was!

Kyrie had her very first experience at churning the ice cream, with a little help. We were surprised at little Joye and how she turned and turned the crank all by herself! She is a tough one!

Easter morning, Ky was attached to her little gifts from the bunny.

Dusty was to involved to hold still for a picture, but both him and Hayden got some balloon rockets that they played with all day long. Hayden was so excited about his, he was hoping the bunny gave some balloon rockets to Rylee too, he thinks she would have liked them just as much as he did.

just life

I have been wanting to post for awhile, but it seems hard to find the time anymore. I guess I can try to catch up later with the fun pics I want to post. It just seems time is running out, there is so much I want to do before the boys get out of school, which they only have 7 days left, 3 of which I will be at the school with them! I also feel like there is so much I want to do before our roommate arrives, which isn't too far away either, although going in to see the OB every 2 weeks so far makes this pregnancy seem to last forever! And I also have much I want to accomplish before our possible next big move. Time is so precious and it is hard for me to decide how to manage it. There are things that have to be done, that need to be done, things I should do and want to do. And I have to fit my new goal in everyday, which is spend lots of time with my hubby. The last few years we have pretty much neglected each other, spending all of our time on kids, work and other demanding things. We decided we need time for each other, and the last couple of weeks have been so nice! We even were able to go on a date. We ate at our favorite Greek restaurant, and for an appetizer we had flaming goat cheese. They brought out a big hunk of cheese and started it on fire. The edges were a little crispy, and the rest was warm and melty and it was so yummy! Then we went to the mall and just walked around and held hands and talked. Our other plans were put on hold because of the cold weather, and it only took about a dozen phone calls to find a babysitter, but it was worth it to get on our own. I felt so in love and it was nice to be just the 2 of us for a change. We definately have to get out more often! We have a few fun ideas for date nights, and I can't wait to go on another one! Spending time with Chris has jumped way up on my list of priorities, I am so lucky to be the one that married him!

Chris's big talk is no longer just talk anymore, he finally got his motorcycle. He loves it, and I know he will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. But to me, it's just scary!!! I know he will be careful, I'm just not so sure about all of the other vehicles on the road! His motorcycle was his big mother's day weekend purchase. It's okay, I got spoiled too! I got up Sunday morning and decided to thin out a couple of big handfuls of my hair and Chris came up with breakfast, so I jumped back in bed. I have never had breakfast in bed before, except for at the hosptial so it was really nice. I for once was able to eat without getting up several times for the kids for one reason or another. I got cards, a couple of dozen roses and lots of sweet lovins and small tokens from the Chris and kids. The kids got to bed on time and Chris and I had some time for ourselves. It was a great day!

The kids just continue to grow faster than I would have ever imagined. Dusty will always be Dusty, he has moved at full speed ever since he was in my belly. He was constantly active, and right after he was born, the rest of the family got to see how fast he moves. He goes and goes and just can't seem to stop. He can make a lot of choas and messes with his speed and imagination, so I can imagine this summer will be fun! Hayden is so opposite from his brother and although I hate to see him spend so much time on the computer, it is nice to have him quietly sit there instead of whirling around like another tornado. Kyrie is as girly as can be, I really need to upload some of her most recent pics with all of her girly attire. She has been so easy so far and I hope it stays that way! Last week she decided she was too big for her crib, and just seconds after I laid her down in her crib, I heard a thud, ran back to her room and found her on the floor. Transitioning her into her toddler bed was so simple. We said her prayers, and she excitedly ran for her bed, without the normal hugs and kisses. She was so happy to be able to get in her bed all by herself.

The last few days have felt like summer and the kids are already begging for the swimming pool to be filled. It has been nice to feel the sun! We have enjoyed seeing the baby bunnies come into our back yard everyday to eat our not so green grass. It might not be so much fun to have them when our garden grows though! We are so excited for summer and have a few things lined out. First of all, some time for just Chris and I - I can't wait! We also have a camping trip planned with some friends, and hopefully a trip back to Utah. The second half of the summer will have to be fun that's all close to home as we wait for the safe arrival of this baby. We are just about done with all the repairs from the hail storm from a year ago, and when we close out on that claim, it will be definately something to celebrate! We have so much to look forward to (especially another date)!

Roommate

So Kyrie has some news to tell, she gets to be a big sister. We are expecting this new roommate around Sept 2nd and IT'S A BOY! We are all very excited. We finally shared in on our secret with family last week. I hadn't been feeling well, acually I was pretty sick and things just didn't feel right, so I didn't want to tell anyone for awhile - then I finally told Chris! We then decided it would be fun to wait and tell my family while we were in Blanding. The kids were told to keep it quiet and it was nearly impossible for Dusty. When my sister Joni came a few weeks ago she figured it out right away but Dusty didn't know that, and he kept saying "what if she finds out about the baby?" Jo did a good job of keeping it a quiet for 2 weeks until the rest of the family found out, and my parents were AMAZED that she kept it a secret. When we got to Blanding, Dusty couldn't contain it anymore, he kept getting after me to tell my grandparents, so we finally did. The next day my sister Sherin and her family came and Kyrie was wearing her big sister shirt, and Mark asked me about the shirt. I am not a very good actor, but I tried to tell him I just shop on clearance, and picked up that shirt one day, and my weight gain was because of my struggle with my hoshimotos thyroiditis and my thryroid levels had been very low (which can cause a lot of weight gain). He didn't believe me, I need to work on my horrible acting skills. A few hours later my parents got there and I thought they would find out right away, either by looking at Kyrie's shirt or my bulging belly. But Kyrie was terrified by all the people trying to talk to her that she stayed glued to me which hid both my belly and her shirt. My mom mentioned that I looked like I had a tan, and clever Mark told her it was because of my thyroid. I was taking a drink at the moment, and tried to keep from bursting with laughter and choked on my water! It was an awkward moment, so I left the room and sat on the couch and supposedly my grandma told my mom to go look at Kyrie's shirt. I didn't know what to expect from my parents when they found out how far along this pregnancy was! My mom was kinda sad that she didn't know before, and my dad was just mostly surprised that Joni could keep her mouth shut! Then my mom found out she had called me while I was in the hospital getting my cervix stitched up because of my incompetent cervix, and was upset that she didn't know about me being in the hosptial all day and night. But think of how we saved her from all that worry!! Actually being in the hospital was like a vacation for me. I never thought I would enjoy staying in the hospital, but it was really nice. I had a break from kids - AND CHRIS HAD TO HAVE ALL 3 OF THEM for a whole day! That hardly EVER happens! The hospital staff pampered me, I had a very nice room in the delivery unit and the food I ordered from the menu was so yummy!! I have already planned when I have this baby, I will definately order their garden vegetable pizza, it was SO good! So see mom, there really wasn't much you missed out on worrying this time! ...I also want to add for the memory of it, Hayden's kindergarten teacher brought dinner over for my family for when I got out of the hospital. It was so unexpected and very nice of her. ...We had the formal ultrasound last Friday and it looks like baby is forming properly and that we need to pull out the blue baby items. I was really hoping for a girl so that Kyrie could have a sister. At first I was a little disappointed, but I'm over it now. When we were expecting Kyrie, I really wanted another boy - and got my little girl! Ever since she joined out family I have wondered why I was wishing blue. Kyrie has been such a joy, so much fun, I am so glad I got my girl! She was just exactly what I needed - what our whole family needed. And I am sure it will be the same with this little boy, he will fit right in! After we got the ultrasound done, we sent out text messages to tell our families, and Chris's family still hadn't heard we were expecting. He sent, "It's a boy" and within seconds his mom had called. He told her he thought for sure that she knew, that he had told his sister Kim a couple of months ago, and he was sure she would've called her mom instatly with the news (which she would have). Chris let his mom go on for a few minutes on how mad she was at Kim, and then he finally told her Kim really didn't know about it. Chris thought it would be fun to keep the pregnancy a secret until we had news about the delivery of the baby, so maybe our families weren't too happy with us last week, but at least they know now! We are excited!

Children's work

A couple of weeks ago I repainted mine and Kyrie's toenails, and it seems to be whatever I am doing, Dusty wants to do - especially if it is crafty. So he painted his and Hayden's fingernails and toenails (Chris would probably like me to add that he was not home, not in town or even near the state of CO when this happened). Dusty wanted a sticker on his big toe, and I told him he needed to go over it with a layer of clear nailpolish to help keep it on. His response was "Can it be the clear with sparkles?" I said sure and the next morning, sent them off to school with Hayden having yellow and orange fingernails just in time for his "Star" moment. His class had put together a star booklet all about themselves, and each got a day to be the star and tell about themselves, and tell about some of their favorite items brought from home. So here is Hayden showing off his star booklet and his colored fingernails to his class!

Dusty also had a special project at school, he did a report on penguins. His class spent a lot of time on their reports, they had to look in the index of their chosen book, and find what page to find certain facts about their animal, and write all of their facts down on index cards. And from the index cards, they formed a 6 paragraph report in the form of a rough draph, and then a final. It included a cover page with a picture and was bound into a little book format. Then they had to present their report, or make a poster to show all the parents and other students. Dusty worked very hard on his report. I can't believe they are doing this in second grade!
